The Adventure of New Car Smell Vol. 2
This story began three months ago after I was finally able to purchase a car. This might not seem like a triumph to some people, but to those who’ve read the previous volume to this story, you can understand why getting my own car was such a big stinking deal.
After finally getting my own car, I never had to use my grandparent’s chauffer services again, which meant that I didn’t have to deal with hiding the broccoli and hoping that their digestive juices were behaving properly. When I rode with them, I was guaranteed to leave the car dazed, confused and a few years older. They stank, and I didn’t want to make them feel bad for that.
Now that I had my own car, I could take deep breaths, leave the windows up during the winter, and stop using my t-shirt as a breathing apparatus. My new car didn’t smell brand new per se, but it was a clean slate that I could fill with my own concoction of delicious and wondrous smells.
Unfortunately, two weeks after I purchased my car, I was in an automobile accident. I was driving along, listening to the radio and breathing freely when the truck in front of me carrying a herd of pigs swerved to avoid a turtle. The truck jackknifed sending the contents of the pig’s stalls sloshing down over the street and my car. My windows were open.
Even after several car washes, upholstery cleanings and exorcisms my car still smells of swine feces. I just can’t seem to win even if I did have super car cheap driver insurance new car smell.
For some, this would be the end of the story, but I was determined to get rid of the stink and save my car…may the righteousness of the super car cheap driver insurance new car smell prevail!
